RETAIL OPPORTUNITY - Railway
The Railway is a traditional village pub which has a good local reputation. This pub is popular with sports enthusiasts and there is potential to introduce a food offer.
TRADING AREA AND PRIVATE ACCOMMODATION
The Railway has two main trading areas, a more traditional lounge area and a bar area which boasts TV screens, darts throws and dominoes. There is also a smaller lounge area to the rear of the pub with comfortable seating. The pub also benefits from small catering kitchen to the rear which would be ideal for a small food offering. Externally there is a drinking patio and smoking area as well as a car park.
The living accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen and a bathroom, all of which are in good condition.
LOCAL AREA AND CUSTOMER BASE
The Railway currently attracts locals from the surrounding villages for drinks and entertainment. Customers are also attracted for games and team activities.
The surrounding area is residential and the majority of housing is privately owned. There is a large secondary school nearby and junior school in the village. Halmerend is located close to Stoke on Trent and Newcastle under Lyme.
The Railway currently trades at approximately £2,500-£3,500 net per week in wet sales and £100 per week in food sales. This pub has a great local reputation and is perceived as a safe and pleasant place to drink. With the right operator in place we would expect this pub to trade in the region of £3,000-£4,000 net per week.
We are seeking an experienced operator who is able to accommodate the potential food element of this business. Local knowledge would be an advantage as would cask ale experience. This opportunity would ideally suit an operator who is keen on pub games and football.
