Trustwide Rotation for Band 5 OTs (full time)
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your Occupational Therapy skills either as a newly qualified therapist or wishing to expand your current experience at Band 5 level.
We are offering places on the full-time B5 OT rotation scheme based in Mental Health Services for Older People, Adults of Working Age and Specialist Learning Disabilities Services. It comprises of rotations in a variety of Community Teams, Assessment and Treatment Units and Continuing Healthcare settings in Hertfordshire. Service Users in these settings have a range of mental health needs as well as other challenges to their health and wellbeing due to other conditions. There is scope to utilise a broad range of specialist OT skills during these rotations.
We provide a dedicated Occupational Therapy service for these Service User groups using a variety of interventions, including individual and group work. You will work alongside a Band 6 OT in each location who will support you in your work as well as working with other OT staff. The OT service uses the Model of Human Occupation across all settings in HPFT. You will be supported by supervision and appraisal to help you with your development; we also have case discussion/ reflection sessions so that the team can reflect on cases and/or conditions to help develop our knowledge and skills.
We fully support the Preceptorship process for new OT graduates and there is a monthly CPD meeting for all Band 5 OTs. We have good promotional and career development opportunities in the service and this is a great starting point. If you have just graduated or are graduating this year we would like to hear from you.
Car driver essential as the posts are either community based or require access to a car (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 which prevents you from driving).
NHS accommodation may also be available for staff seeking to relocate to Hertfordshire
We also offer: Paid opportunities for OTs Returning to Practice after a break or for those wanting to expand their experience into a new field of practice. Flexible bank work for qualified and unqualified experienced staff. Opportunities for bank work if you are currently studying for your OT qualification. Opportunities for work experience for those considering OT as a career.
