Japanese to German Creative Translators –; In-house Projects

Language Matters, Central London
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this well known central London based company as a Japanese to German translator. They are looking for an experienced German translator with fluent Japanese to work in its localisation department on a project basis.

The translator will be involved in the translation of a variety of creative texts and material from Japanese to German, with a main focus on videogame localisation. The ideal candidate will have university-level studies in Japanese with German to native level and a keen interest in languages and Japanese and German culture.

This is an in-house, project based role in London and accommodation and travel expenses will be covered if the successful candidate does not live in London.


* German to mother tongue standard
* Fluent in Japanese, written and spoken (ideally JLPT1 or equivalent)
* Fluent in English
* Previous experience in translation
* Creative writing style
* An interest in gaming
* Trados experience preferred
* Understanding of and exposure to Japanese and German culture
